Prem Kumar He is a member of Bihar Legislative Assembly elected seven times from Gaya Town assembly constituency.
He has completed his PHD from Magadh University in 1999. Dr.Prem was elected the leader of the opposition in the Bihar assembly formed after assembly election in October, 2015. A beleaguered Bihar BJP’s decision to shift power from OBC to EBC leadership marks the elevation of seven-time Gaya Town MLA Prem Kumar, who patiently waited for years for his turn to serve in a position of prominence in the party. Kumar, the BJP’s new leader in the Bihar Assembly, became an MLA for the first time in 1990. Maintaining an unbeatable record at the hustings ever since, he successfully weathered the political period dominated by Lalu Prasad in the state

Departmental Experience

1. Minister, Department of Public health engineering from 26th Nov 2005 till 13th April 2008.

2. Minister, department of road Constructions since 14th April 2008 to 25th Nov 2010.

3. Minister, Department of Urban Development, from 26th April 2010 till 15th June 2013.

4. Leader of Opposition, Bihar Legislative Assembly from 4th Dec 2015 till 28th July 2017.

5. Minister, Department of Agriculture, Govt of Bihar, since 28th July 2017 till date.

Awards

1. Nirmal Gram Awards 2007 Awarded by Dr. A.P.J. Abul Kalam, H.E, and President of India for excellent work as a Minister of Public health Engineering department. (First Time in Bihar).

2. Excellence Award , Awarded by Sri Pranav Mukherji H.E President of India to the Department of Urban Development for best performance in Swarna Jayanti in the period of Rojgar Yojana Minister , Department of Urban Development , Bihar.

3. Rastriya Krishi Karman Award, Awarded by Hon’ble Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi for highest Maize Production-17th March 2018.
